In 2009, John and Katie Vitale, former owners of Gino’s Restaurant in St. Louis, were looking for the perfect place to open a family operated pizzeria. After falling in love with Hillsboro, they opened Gianni's Pizza & Italian Ristorante.
After two months spent preparing the building, John and Katie opened Gianni's Pizza & Italian Ristorante with their children Vince, Rose, and Gianluca. They expanded their brand to Litchfield after four successful years in Hillsboro.
